Innovation with the highest efficiency
Each day, the sun transmits 960 billion KWh of energy to earth. Free heat, which is collected and stored in the water, land and atmosphere. The primary aim of the gas-powered heat pumps is to integrate this enormous reserve of energy into our heating system in the most intelligent way possible. Using this system, 75% of the energy required for heating and hot water is obtained from the combustion process. The remaining 25% comes to us free, from the environment. Consequently, the efficiency of the Zeolite Heating Appliance is shown to be 135% - almost 30% (abs.) higher than non-condensing appliances.
Systematic efficiency
The new adsorption technology operates tough a system based on the properties of water and zeolite. Zeolite is a ceramic material manufactured from aluminium and silicon oxide whose special physical properties make it deal for use in heat pumps. Its ability to adsorb large quantities of water and give this up again during heating establishes an effective circulation system. Furthermore, zeolite is non-toxic, non-flammable and completely safe for the environment. For these reasons, it has been used in washing powders as a replacement for phosphate since the 1980s.
A success for the environment
Conventional methods of combustion not only heat up our homes – but our planet too. Carbon dioxide is emitted, creating the greenhouse effect. A rise in the temperature of the earth and global climatic changes are the end result. Here, the efficiency of Zeolite Heating really makes a difference. The new gas heat pump technology reduces energy consumption , and therefore CO2 emissions fall by 30% in comparison to traditional low-temperature boilers. An important contribution to the Kyoto Convention on Climate Change.

Simply convincing: modular technology
The Zeolite Heating Appliance sits on the carrier as a double pack: two identical heat-pump modules operate in parallel. Located in the upper section of these stainless steel containers is a heat exchanger (adsorber / desorber) to which the zeolite sorption medium is applied. In the lower section is a second heat exchanger designed to work as a condenser/evaporator. Contained inside is the water which serves as the refrigerant.
Connected in series. Combined for efficiency. By coupling the modules together and through the internal heat transfer made possible in this way, efficiency is increased even further. All in all: maximum performance, combined with minimum cost. Then, the components of the modules have no moving parts and require just as little maintenance as non-rusting containers made of stainless steel.
Convincingly simple: the heat pump proces
The heat-pump process consist of two phases which take place simultaneously in the two heat-pump modules. In the desorption phase the moist zeolite is heated to 150°C by means of a gas burner. The water stored within is released to form steam which flows into the lower section of the module. Here, the steam condenses and the heat is given up to be used as required for the desired heating task. As soon as the zeolite becomes dry and all the water is contained in the condenser, this first phase is complete.
The adsorption phase begins when the gas burner shuts off and the module is cooled. With the help of free heat from the environment, the water in the lower section of the module evaporates. The steam flows upwards and is adsorbed by the zeolite. The heat recovered in this way is given up again to the heating system. When the water has been completely evaporated, the process begins again.
For the highest quality requirements
Trust is good. Reliability is better. Therefore, the new technology is presently being subjected to the rigours of thorough technical trials. Our primary aim is to offer an advanced technical product of the highest quality. From 2005, the first Zeolite Heating Appliances will be on the market. At first, with a rated power output of 10 kW then later in the other versions too. An additional collector will be required for the recovery of environmental heat. The location for the collector can be chosen as desired, on the roof or the house facade.
For a great feeling
It’s a real advance when everyone profits: the environment, the tradesman and, not least, the end user. It was with exactly this in mind, that development of the Zeolite Heating Appliance was conceived. The consumer can now obtain heat while conserving the environmental resources. Enjoying the same heating comfort but with higher energy efficiency. Incorporating the free environmental heat is something that is certain to guarantee a great feeling. Especially at the end of a heating period – when the costs of consumption are calculated.
For a smooth installation
The tradesmen also have good reason to smile: for allround ease of installation it can’t be beaten. Thanks to familiar gas condensing boiler technology. That makes the Zeolite Heating Appliance an interesting product, not just for new buildings and low-energy house designs, but also for modernisation projects. Through innovative technology it can be quickly and easily integrated into existing building structures. In the same way, maintenance costs can also be kept low. Only the combustion system needs annual maintenance. The central heat pump modules are, in contrast, completely maintenance-free.
